Visible in the background is a modest hut with a single palm tree rising above it for shade.
The reverse of all Somalia Silver Elephant coins continues to feature the coat of arms for the nation of Somalia. The seal features a heraldic shield set above two crossing spears wrapped in a ribbon. The shield has a single star against a background of horizontal lines, and one leopard on either side holds the shield up.
Germanys Bavarian State Mint is responsible for the production of all 2017 Somalia Silver Elephant coins. Located in Munich, it is a state-owned entity of the Free State of Bavaria.
