Chiwoo Cheonwang medallions debuted from KOMSCO in 2016 with a low mintage of 30,000 for the silver and just 2,016 for the gold medallions. For 2017, KOMSCO has responded to the immense demand and initial popularity in this series with the release by adding a new 1/10 oz gold medallion.
The 2017 1/10 oz South Korean Chiwoo Cheonwang Gold Medallion features the same beautiful designs on the obverse and reverse as the 2017 silver medal, but has a different packaging. KOMSCO offers the 1/10 oz gold medallions in plastic assay certificate cards, with the medallions in this listing in the blue label.
All 2017 1/10 oz South Korean Chiwoo Gold Medallions are packaged in either a white, blue, red, or black assay card. In the case of the medallions in this listing, the blue assay card is used and represents just 10% of the overall mintage. The reverse of each card has the assay information for your medallion.
The obverse of the Chiwoo Cheonwang Gold Medallion has a large depiction of the shield of Chiwoo. Upon the surface of the shield, youll find the design of Chiwoo Cheonwangs battle mask worn as part of his armament. Engravings on this face feature the KOMSCO name and a latent security image below the shield which features the purity of the medallion (999) within it.
On the reverse of all 2017 1/10 oz South Korean Chiwoo Cheonwang Gold Medallions is the image of Chiwoo himself. Chiwoo Cheonwang has roots in Chinese and Korean culture, with ancient Chinese cultures believing he had a bronze head, metal forehead, four eyes, and six arms.
