The silver coins for sale in the Barbados Trident series from the Scottsdale Mint is part of an ongoing issue of bullion coins for the nation of Barbados. The coins have legal tender status in Barbados with a face value of One Dollar based on the Barbadian dollar (BBD). The 2018 coins in this collection have a new background field on the reverse side.
For the debut issue, the Scottsdale Mint used a background field on the reverse that featured the waves of the ocean as the country is an island nation in the southern Caribbean Sea bordering on the Atlantic Ocean. The new 2018 Barbados Trident Silver Coin has a stippled background field that offers a hammered appearance to the finish.
On the reverse of these 2018 1 oz Pineapple Privy Barbados Trident Silver Coins is the image of a trident head. The trident appears on the national flag of Barbados and, though it is a real-life tool, is remembered by many as the weapon of the God of the Sea, Neptune. He would use his trident to control the oceans and summon great storms against those who offended him. To the right of the trident head, youll notice the pineapple privy mark.
The obverse of 2018 Pineapple Privy Barbados Silver Coins features the coat of arms for Barbados. The shield features a hand emerging from the helmet above with two crossed sugarcane stalks, a nod to one of the primary crops of the island. There is a small trident head located on this side below the 18 in the date mark.
