(Wallace Refiners) – VR Resources (TSX.V: VRR, FSE: 5VR; OTCQB: VRRCF) reported that it has discovered a broad intersection of lithium, niobium-thorium-REE mineralization at its Hecla-Kilmer carbonatite property and copper-gold breccia target in northern Ontario.
The company said that intersections of critical minerals and REE mineralization span 49 metres starting at 50 m depth in HK20-004 and more than 20 metres at 574m depth in HK20-002. They contain up to 0.56 % combined La2O3, Ce2O3, and Y2O3; elevated thorium up to 0.15 % ThO2; anomalous niobium up to 0.13 % Nb2O5; as much as 33.7 ppm terbium, a heavy REE.
As a result of the discovery, VR has staked two new properties in the region, and has initiated a detailed ground-based gravity survey at Hecla-Kilmer in order to map the high-density rocks that the lithium and REE mineralization is associated with.
VR is an established junior exploration company focused on greenfield opportunities in copper and gold. The company focuses on underexplored, large-footprint mineral systems in the western United States and Canada and is well-financed for its exploration strategies and corporate obligations. VR owns its properties outright and evaluates new opportunities on an ongoing basis, whether by staking or acquisition.
